BHUTAN THE DRAGON KINGDOM ITINERARY
  • Day 1, KATHMANDU  
Arrive and transfer to hotel.
 
  Day 2, PARO  
Fly to Paro in Bhutan and transfer to your hotel. (D)  
  Day 3, PARO  

Sightseeing tour of Paro, including a short drive to Drukgel, a fortress that repelled many Tibetan invasions. (BLD)

 
  Day 4, THIMPU  

Morning drive to Thimpu. Afternoon sightseeing tour of Thimpu, the capital of Bhutan. (BLD)

 
  Day 5, WANGDI  
Spectacular drive via the Dochula Pass to the old capital of Punakha where we visit Punakha monastery. We end the day in Wangdi where we stay in a lovely riverside resort in the middle of a beautiful valley. (BLD)  
  Day 6, TRONG-SA  
Morning drive to Trong-Sa. In the afternoon we visit the impregnable Trong-Sa fortress from which the whole region was controlled for centuries. (BLD  
  Day 7, BUMTHANG  
Morning drive to Bumthang. In the afternoon we walk around the beautiful and unspoilt Bumthang Valley and visit nearby monasteries. (BLD)  
  Day 8, BUMTHANG  
An excursion to Ura village, where the cobblestone paths give the village a medieval feel. (BLD)  
  Day 9, GANGTEY  
A scenic drive to Gangtey, with its famous monastery in a beautiful open valley reminiscent of Tibet. (BLD)  
  Day 10, PARO  
We drive via Wangdi Dzong and Thimpu to end the day in Paro. (BLD)  
  Day 11, KATHMANDU  
Transfer to the airport for a flight to Kathmandu. Transfer to your hotel on arrival, afternoon at leisure. (B)  
  Day 12, KATHMANDU  
Free day. (B)
